This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and finalize strategic utility agreements.
• Cultivate, advance, and finalize intricate enterprise partnerships with utility companies. Manage the complete sales process—from identifying opportunities and engaging initial stakeholders to developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
• Create and Manage Pipeline.
• Establish and sustain a solid pipeline of qualified opportunities within the utility sector. This position demands a proactive approach: pinpointing gaps, generating urgency, and converting interest into binding agreements.
• Market Development & Strategic Positioning.
• Assist utilities in recognizing the benefits of residential virtual power plants and flexible load resources. Convert emerging grid challenges—such as capacity limitations, electrification, and reliability requirements—into viable opportunities for Renew Home solutions.
• Build Executive Relationships.
• Forge trusted connections with senior leaders across utility organizations, including executives responsible for grid planning, demand response, DER strategies, regulatory affairs, and innovation.
• Navigate Complex Utility Landscapes.
• Collaborate with utilities, DER platform providers, program implementers, regulators, and market operators to align various stakeholders and advance deals in intricate, multi-party settings.
• Represent Renew Home in the Industry.
• Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and working groups to enhance Renew Home’s visibility and discover new opportunities to promote virtual power plants and grid flexibility.
• Collaborate Across Functions.
• Work closely with internal teams in product, regulatory, marketing, and customer success to ensure customer requirements are effectively translated into scalable solutions and successful program implementations.
• Proven Track Record in Enterprise Sales - Over 10 years of experience in enterprise sales, partnerships, or business development within the energy sector, with a proven history of closing complex, multi-million dollar agreements.
• In-Depth Utility Industry Insight - Comprehensive understanding of utilities, demand-side management programs, distributed energy resources, and the evolving landscape of energy transition.
• Experience with Grid-Facing Solutions - Background in selling products or services related to demand response, virtual power plants, DER aggregation, grid services, distributed energy, or supply-side energy transactions.
• Self-Motivated Professional - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are expected to take initiative, create momentum, and propel deals forward with minimal supervision.
• Skills in Strategic Market Development - Capability to identify emerging opportunities, build momentum with clients, and transition early-stage discussions into commercial agreements.
• Strong Executive Communication & Relationship Skills - Exceptional aptitude for conveying complex technical and economic ideas to senior utility leaders and decision-makers.
• A full-time role with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The on-target earnings for this position range from $250k to $315k+.
