Director of Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and continuously enhance products for external users and internal teams, ensuring an excellent user experience, scalability, and measurable business outcomes.

• Establish a clear technological direction and align engineering and data roadmaps with the company's strategic objectives and business priorities.

• Manage system architecture and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness as the organization expands.

• Provide guidance on key technological choices across platform architecture, cloud service providers, and engineering methodologies, building trust within the engineering team through hands-on involvement.

• Utilize data to shape product strategy, operational enhancements, and executive decision-making.

• Enhance analytics capabilities to increase visibility across business and operational metrics.

• Maintain robust security, privacy, and compliance practices, particularly in environments that manage sensitive personal and health-related information.

• Implement frameworks for data protection, access governance, and auditing that align with relevant regulatory standards.

• Build and scale high-performing teams across engineering and data functions.

• Recruit, mentor, and support senior managers and technical leaders to develop a strong leadership team beneath you.

• Set clear operating rhythms, performance metrics, and technical standards.

• Foster alignment between technology, operations, finance, and business units.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in rapidly growing technology startups or scale-up environments.

• Proven experience in leading engineering and/or data teams through senior managers or technical leads, rather than just individual contributors.

• Demonstrated capability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, converting business objectives into platform and technology results.

• Strong product judgment coupled with enough technical expertise to influence architecture and platform decisions.

• Practical experience with scalable, cloud-native systems and modern data platforms.

• Background in regulated or data-sensitive sectors (such as health, insurance, fintech, or similar) is a significant advantage.

• Superior communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clarity in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

• A strong sense of ownership and the confidence to make impactful decisions with incomplete information.

• Willingness to travel periodically within Southeast Asia, especially to the Philippines, for on-site collaboration with the client team (approximately once a month).
