Director of Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +36 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate both internal and external risks and opportunities, integrate facts, analyses, and insights, make informed recommendations, and influence business decisions.

• Partner with the Strategy team and organizational leaders to develop and execute the Strategic Plan.

• Define goals, objectives, milestones, project plans, risks, and metrics to scope and plan projects effectively.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance financial and operational performance, manage change, and monitor milestones and key metrics.

• Engage in comprehensive qualitative and quantitative problem-solving, formulating recommendations that guide decision-making and action.

• Analyze and distill data into actionable recommendations.

• Utilize agentic AI to achieve more comprehensive solutions more rapidly.

• Develop clear and persuasive internal and external communications following the inverse pyramid structure.

• Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Strategy Officer, team, and other executives.

• Work collaboratively with leaders across various functions to evaluate opportunities and implement decisions.

• Lead change initiatives and continually enhance the operational practices at Vital Farms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BA/BS degree is mandatory.

• Over 7 years of experience in Strategy or a related field.

• Previous experience in a top-tier Strategy Consulting firm, in-house strategy team, or similar roles such as FP&A, Corporate Development, or banking.

• A strong preference for a blend of consulting and in-house experience.

• Prior experience in leading and mentoring others is preferred.

• Willingness to travel 10–20% for company meetings, team retreats, employee onboarding, and other business necessities.

• Highly analytical, capable of swiftly transitioning from data analysis to synthesis to actionable recommendations.

• Familiarity or proficiency with agentic AI.

• Ability to experiment with and rapidly scale new methods while continuously improving processes.

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams at all organizational levels.

• Executive presence coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in inverse pyramid communication.

• Excellent meeting management capabilities.

• Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.

• Ability to navigate strategically and tactically in dynamic, ambiguous environments.

• Strong change management capabilities.

• A collaborative mindset, a sense of ownership, openness to diverse perspectives, and a readiness for candid discussions.
