• Act as the primary finance executive for AvonRisk during all M&A transactions, overseeing the complete financial due diligence process from initial evaluation to closure.
• Create and sustain acquisition valuation models, such as DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis, specifically designed for the TPA and specialty insurance services sectors.
• Direct financial, operational, and commercial due diligence workstreams, collaborating with legal teams, external advisors, and management of target companies.
• Develop and deliver investment memoranda, deal summaries, and materials suitable for board presentations regarding each acquisition prospect.
• Formulate financial frameworks for post-acquisition integration, including Day 1 reporting, synergy tracking, and performance benchmarks.
• Keep an active pipeline model and criteria for evaluating potential acquisition targets, covering financial health assessments and strategic fit evaluations.
• Cultivate relationships with investment bankers, external legal counsel, and other advisors involved in current and prospective transactions.
• Oversee the annual budgeting and long-range planning (LRP) process in close collaboration with the CFO and business unit leaders to establish a comprehensive 3- to 5-year financial strategy.
• Create and maintain integrated financial models that encompass AvonRisk’s fee-based TPA revenue structure, operating expenses, and margin profile.
• Construct scenario and sensitivity models to aid significant strategic decisions, including new program launches, geographic expansion, and capital allocation.
• Prepare financial presentations for executives and boards, simplifying complex data into coherent strategic narratives.
• Conduct program-level profitability analyses, including margin attribution by client, business line, and claims program.
• Collaborate with Claims and Operations leadership to pinpoint cost drivers, identify efficiency opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance program margins.
• Assist in pricing and contract negotiations with thorough financial analyses of program economics and risk-adjusted returns.
• Develop pro forma financial models for new business ventures, evaluating revenue potential, cost structures, and investment needs.
• Design and manage AvonRisk’s reporting framework for management, including monthly financial packages for the CFO and CEO that cover revenue, margins, and operational KPIs.
• Lead monthly variance analysis against budget and previous periods, providing executive-ready commentary on the drivers and future outlook.
• Create and update KPI dashboards that offer real-time insights into business performance across various service lines and client programs.
• Collaborate with Accounting to ensure consistency between management reports and GAAP financials.
• Serve as a reliable finance partner to the CEO, COO, Head of Claims, and other senior leaders, delivering financial insights and analytical rigor for critical decisions.
• Promote the use of financial planning tools, reporting automation, and data infrastructure to enhance the scalability of the finance function.
• Represent the Finance department in cross-functional projects including technology implementations, client onboarding, and organizational development initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Over 8 years of progressive finance experience, showcasing a strong background in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
• Proven experience in leading or co-leading financial due diligence on acquisitions, including building valuation models, managing diligence workstreams, and presenting to executive stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and long-range planning.
• Highly independent and capable of functioning as an individual contributor in a streamlined, entrepreneurial setting.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial analyses to C-suite executives and board members.
• Exceptional project management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple active deals and planning cycles concurrently.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial planning tools and data visualization platforms is advantageous.
• MBA or CFA designation is preferred.
