This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive automated invoicing and revenue accounting cycle in NetSuite, transitioning current manual procedures into a scalable and efficient solution.
• Collaborate with the data warehouse team to reconcile source data, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrections to ensure accurate data integration into accounting workflows.
• Manage the entire invoicing process across all partner agreements — including revenue sharing, commissions, and other structures — from setup to collection.
• Analyze and account for intricate deal structures such as tiered revenue shares, variable commissions, clawbacks, and multi-element arrangements.
• Guarantee accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and prepare technical accounting memos to support this process.
• Maintain the Accounts Receivable (AR) subledger, reconcile it with the General Ledger (GL), and oversee month-end close for all partner revenue streams.
• Utilize advanced SQL to independently extract, validate, and reconcile substantial transaction datasets across various systems.
• Review and interpret commercial contracts to uncover accounting implications; collaborate with Business Development and Legal teams on new deal structures.
• Act as the primary Finance point of contact for external partners regarding dispute resolution, remittance inquiries, and contract interpretation.
• Manage collections, including reviewing aging accounts, escalating issues, and resolving overdue balances.
• Establish internal controls and assist with external audits related to revenue and partner accounting.
• CPA designation with over 8 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in revenue recognition and partner or customer billing.
• Proficient in advanced SQL — capable of independently extracting and reconciling data without dependence on a data team.
• Extensive knowledge of ASC 606 with proven experience in drafting technical accounting memos.
• Ability to read and interpret commercial contracts while recognizing their accounting implications.
• Strong skills in data reconciliation across large, multi-source datasets.
• Experience managing collections and fostering relationships with external partners.
• Clear and confident communication style when engaging with senior leadership and external partners alike.
• Preferred: Experience with NetSuite AR, billing, and automation.
• Preferred: A background in a high-growth technology or marketplace organization.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating across functions with data engineering or warehouse teams.
