This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of the Southern California territory strategy by segmenting the market and prioritizing accounts.
• Establish referral connections with treatment centers, clinicians, discharge planners, legal and monitoring programs, employers, and community organizations.
• Concentrate on residential programs, detox centers, PHP/IOPs, outpatient services, sober living environments, therapists, addiction medicine and psychiatry practices, primary care, and hospital social workers.
• Conduct 15–20 partner meetings weekly after the ramp-up period and spend four to five days per week in the field.
• Consultatively sell Accountable's recovery services tailored to the needs of each referrer's clients.
• Facilitate in-services and lunch-and-learn sessions, and participate in coalition meetings, professional events, and conferences.
• Oversee each referral handoff, ensure closure with partners, and maintain Accountable's esteemed reputation.
• Manage referral targets, pipeline development, account conversion, forecasting, and necessary performance adjustments.
• Record activity, opportunities, and market intelligence in the CRM on the same day.
• Share successful messaging, competitor insights, introductions, and lessons learned with the outreach team.
• Adhere to Accountable's compliance standards and refrain from referral fees, per-head arrangements, or kickbacks.
• Report directly to the VP of Outreach as an individual contributor.
• Develop a repeatable market playbook to facilitate expansion into future territories.
• Must reside in Southern California.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
• Over 5 years of experience in outside sales, community outreach, admissions, or business development.
• Proven ownership of a territory, pipeline, or revenue target.
• Direct experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment is highly preferred.
• Established trusted relationships within the Southern California treatment community.
• Connections with treatment providers, clinicians, interventionists, attorneys, or monitoring programs capable of generating qualified referrals within the first quarter.
• Experience in launching a market or building a territory from its inception.
• Familiarity with detox, residential, PHP, IOP, outpatient services, MAT, sober living, and recovery support.
• Knowledge of private pay and insurance coverage with the ability to accurately explain client costs.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding quota or revenue targets.
• Capability to articulate pipeline, account conversion, and performance metrics.
• Discipline in logging CRM activities on the same day.
• Ability to work autonomously while sharing relationships and enhancing team performance.
• Willingness to be held accountable through weekly targets and monthly business reviews.
• Availability to start promptly.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Regular travel is required across Southern California, with 3–4 field days per week.
• Personal or family recovery experience is appreciated but not mandatory.
• Performance bonus with a target total compensation ranging from $130,000 to $150,000.
