Director of Programs – Learning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the execution and development of the Let It Flow Initiative, which includes strategy formulation, partnership management, fundraising assistance, and components for learning and evaluation.

• Assist in the execution of the Democracy’s Immune System Initiative through the creation of narrative materials, engagement with partners, and fundraising efforts.

• Create and implement innovative programmatic initiatives.

• Convert movement analysis and programmatic insights into narratives, evidence, and frameworks for communication and fundraising.

• Facilitate and coordinate the cross-fund Programs Team.

• Represent CLIMA in philanthropic and partnership environments.

• Synthesize lessons learned, emerging trends, and strategic implications relevant to CLIMA’s work.

• Oversee CLIMA’s learning and evaluation processes along with the collective learning agenda.

• Facilitate and coordinate the Learning and Evaluation Team.

• Develop impact frameworks and learning tools.

• Manage ongoing research initiatives, including studies on the impact of grassroots movements in mitigation efforts.

• Support strategic planning and organizational reflection activities.

• Enhance collaboration and communication among member organizations.

• Foster an organizational culture grounded in collaboration, equity, and care.

• Infuse programmatic insights and political analysis into organizational decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in climate justice, philanthropy, movement-building, organizational learning, or similar fields.

• Direct involvement with grassroots climate justice movements.

• Experience in managing complex initiatives across various organizations, networks, or collaborations.

• Exceptional facilitation and relationship-building abilities.

• Experience in designing learning and evaluation processes.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

• Capability to prioritize, negotiate, and collaborate with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in producing engaging written and digital content.

• Strong grasp of climate justice, systems change, and movement-led strategies.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities across teams and geographical locations.

• Skill in planning backward, anticipating challenges, identifying stakeholders, and efficiently utilizing resources.

• Proven success in translating insights into strategy and actionable initiatives from conception to execution.

• Deep commitment to justice, equity, and solidarity practices.

• Collaborative leadership style with comfort in navigating organizational boundaries.

• A sense of curiosity, humility, and a commitment to continuous learning.

• Availability to work 2–3 hours between 8AM and 12PM PST at least four days a week.

• Willingness to travel approximately 3–5 times per year, both domestically and internationally.
