This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Take ownership of the category vision, strategy, and performance across various channels.
• Direct the architecture of the assortment, governance, and initiatives for SKU rationalization.
• Track category performance and put into action improvement plans.
• Discover growth opportunities, identify portfolio gaps, and recognize emerging market trends.
• Utilize insights from consumers, competitors, industry, and internal sources to guide strategic decisions.
• Manage innovation roadmaps and product pipelines for both owned and partner brands.
• Oversee product launches, reformulations, and discontinuations.
• Collaborate across functions to bring innovation initiatives to market.
• Assess launch performance and refine future innovation investments.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Associate and Assistant Merchants.
• Set clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Build organizational capabilities and succession plans.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and results.
• Represent Merchandising in enterprise initiatives and strategic projects.
• Influence decisions across Innovation, Marketing, Pricing, Analytics, Purchasing, Ecommerce, Marketplace, and International teams.
• Align stakeholders around category priorities and business goals.
• Propel category growth, profitability, and portfolio optimization.
• Manage innovation performance and product lifecycle strategies.
• Employ analytics and financial insights to steer business decisions.
• Support enterprise growth initiatives across all sales channels.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in merchandising or category management.
• Proven track record of managing category performance, innovation pipelines, and cross-functional business initiatives.
• Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning skills.
• Experience in owning financial performance and driving business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage product lifecycles and innovation portfolios.
• Executive presence with the capability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development expertise.
• Ability to navigate uncertainty and lead through organizational changes.
• A proactive approach with a focus on accountability and results.
• Experience working across diverse sales channels, including DTC, marketplaces, and international markets is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
