Director of Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design for Ethos’s primary conversion funnel, encompassing landing experiences, application processes, underwriting, checkout, onboarding, and policy management.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product designers.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, and Brand teams to create unified user experiences that align with conversion and retention goals.

• Enhance design systems and craftsmanship, focusing on accessibility, decision-making discipline, experimentation, storytelling, and the effective use of research and data.

• Partner with Performance Creative and Brand to ensure a seamless user journey across growth and product platforms.

• Foster a culture of excellence and growth among team members.

• Define how Ethos assists individuals in navigating complex life insurance choices with confidence, clarity, and compassion.

• Advocate for intentional, intuitive, and engaging design, strategic experimentation, compelling storytelling, and measurable business results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in product design (UX).

• Several years of experience leading multi-person design teams.

• Proven experience in designing intricate, decision-intensive B2C user journeys.

• Background in industries like fintech, healthtech, or insurtech.

• Strong grasp of conversion optimization, user motivation, and behavior design principles.

• Capability to transform ambiguity into clarity by organizing complex information into actionable flows.

• Excellent communication skills with teams and stakeholders.

• A history of positively influencing product quality and design culture.

• A portfolio showcasing visual design, interaction design, storytelling, and measurable business impact.

• Base salary ranging from $183,000 to $323,000 annually.
