This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Oversee and direct the operations of the Costa Rica Design Center, guiding engineering managers, supervisors, and technical teams.
• Ensure the successful execution of engineering projects, maintaining quality standards, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with leaders from the North American Design Center to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and enhance engineering capacity.
• Formulate workforce planning, forecasting, and resource management strategies to aid in project execution.
• Track operational KPIs, productivity metrics, labor expenses, asset utilization, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Cultivate high-performing, flexible engineering teams through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
• Spearhead process improvement, standardization, automation, and AI projects to boost engineering efficiency.
• Manage operational risks, devise mitigation strategies, and ensure the fulfillment of production and business objectives.
• Partner with HR to enhance recruiting, employee development, training, career advancement, and performance management processes.
• Maintain effective communication with global teams and stakeholders, promoting collaboration within a matrix organization.
• Develop relationships with local suppliers and support site operations in Costa Rica.
• Drive the ongoing enhancement of engineering processes, operating procedures, workload management, and business performance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• At least 10 years of experience in engineering, technical management, or operations leadership is required.
• A minimum of 5 years in a Site Manager role, demonstrating a successful history of leading teams and coordinating cross-functional departments.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, as necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering disciplines, design tools, processes, and procedures.
• Strong grasp of engineering operations and team management.
• Proven capability to influence leadership and promote new ideas, products, and initiatives.
• Experience overseeing multiple departments, cross-functional teams, or complex projects in a dynamic environment.
• Solid understanding of technology, digital solutions, and model-based engineering practices.
• Background in executing process improvement initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration abilities, with a talent for working effectively across all organizational levels.
• Strong leadership, people management, performance management, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional organizational, planning, and multitasking capabilities.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong business acumen complemented by exceptional interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to senior leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
