Director of MEP Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and operational management for the MEP engineering practice.

• Foster technical excellence and ensure adherence to standards across various engineering deliverables.

• Lead the growth of the department while upholding high standards in project execution.

• Guide and manage the MEP engineering team, which includes leads across Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing disciplines.

• Perform evaluations, set technical benchmarks, and promote professional development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.

• An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in MEP design, facility infrastructure, or architectural engineering consulting.

• More than 5 years in a direct management or director-level leadership position overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams, budgets, and project timelines.

• Extensive technical knowledge in medium- and low-voltage electrical design, utility service coordination, standby power systems, short-circuit/coordination studies, and protective relaying.

• Strong familiarity with integrated mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection systems.

• Advanced understanding of national building codes, energy codes, and electrical standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IBC).

• Proven competence with industry tools, including BIM/Revit, AutoCAD, electrical calculation software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower), and energy modeling software.
