Director of Managed Security Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the Security Service Line.

• Establish the roadmap, tooling stack, and staffing model for security operations.

• Define SLAs, escalation procedures, and quality standards for 24/7 MDR service delivery.

• Manage the security incident response process from start to finish.

• Directly supervise or oversee SOC/SecOps functions.

• Maintain and enhance the security tool stack.

• Assess and integrate new security tools and partnerships.

• Develop, document, and manage administrative security programs.

• Lead compliance initiatives for SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and more.

• Oversee compliance automation tools.

• Serve as the technical security expert in sales discussions.

• Collaborate with sales and leadership to define client security requirements.

• Build and lead the security operations team.

• Establish metrics and reporting to assess security posture and program maturity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in a leadership or senior technical role at an existing MSSP.

• Hands-on experience with SecOps and SIEM tools.

• Familiarity with the broader security stack.

• Proven track record in building and managing administrative security/compliance programs.

• Direct experience with compliance automation platforms.

• Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks.

• Ability to clearly communicate security risks and posture to both technical personnel and business/executive stakeholders.

• Experience in serving life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated sectors (Preferred).

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC/GCIH, CISA) (Preferred).

• Experience in developing a security service line or practice from an initial stage (Preferred).
