This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Develop the IT function for the portfolio from the ground up, acting as the primary owner of IT for both our holding company and its portfolio companies.
β’ Oversee the IT workstream for each acquisition: inventory the tech stack, map access, establish accounts and devices, and integrate the company into Emergence systems.
β’ Create the Day 1-100 integration playbook that is currently missing, and implement it during approximately three acquisitions per quarter.
β’ Establish and manage the joiner/mover/leaver standards across the portfolio, ensuring completeness in offboarding.
β’ Operate the identity platform following its selection and rollout (the selection process is currently in progress, informed by an ongoing portfolio audit).
β’ Maintain an up-to-date inventory of tools, accounts, admin credentials, licenses, and renewal dates that underpin every consolidation and security decision.
β’ Manage the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for portfolio companies utilizing central IT services.
β’ Oversee vendor contracts, renewals, license consolidation, and portfolio pricing based on volume.
β’ Establish the back-end integrations that support our cross-portfolio data platform.
β’ 6-10 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, systems administration, or MSP/consulting delivery, with a minimum of 3 years in an IT leadership position.
β’ Proven track record of managing IT across multiple companies, clients, or business units simultaneously, rather than in a single-company environment, regardless of how well it is managed.
β’ Experience leading the IT workstream during acquisitions, including due diligence, Day 1 readiness, and post-close systems rationalization and migration.
β’ In-depth understanding of the trade-offs between centralized and decentralized IT delivery; you are a strong advocate for effective practices and aware of what does not work.
β’ Proficient in identity and access management operations (Okta, Entra, JumpCloud, or similar): SSO, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows.
β’ Capable of entering a company lacking documentation and systematically mapping existing resources.
β’ Strong instincts for vendor and license management, including contracts, renewals, SLAs, and consolidation.
β’ You are someone who creates the playbook rather than simply executing one that has been handed to you.
β’ Exceptional business stakeholder management skills β you can engage professionally at all organizational levels.
β’ We provide competitive compensation alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
