Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly and annual closing processes, including the oversight and review of the corporate accountant.

• Supervise payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fund reconciliations, accrual and intercompany schedules, as well as general journal entries.

• Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports.

• Create and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to facilitate rapid growth.

• Evaluate accounting matters related to new business initiatives or product features and provide guidance to stakeholders regarding their implications.

• Guarantee adherence to IFRS reporting standards and policies, assisting the CFO with financial statement notes.

• Coordinate and oversee tax processes, including compliance and filings, while addressing federal and provincial tax matters with tax advisors.

• Identify, investigate, summarize, and apply solutions for technical accounting challenges.

• Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to uphold robust internal controls and financial reporting standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A CPA certification is REQUIRED, along with a solid understanding of IFRS.

• At least 10 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of two busy seasons in external audit at a national or global firm.

• Familiarity with CIRO financial reporting requirements, including Form 1 reporting.

• Advanced Excel capabilities and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications, such as PowerPoint and Word.

• Experience with system conversions (Sage → QBO).

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
