• The Director of Finance plays a critical role in providing strategic financial leadership and overseeing the organization's financial systems, fiscal management, and the alignment of financial policies with the organization's core values.
• Ensures adherence to GAAP and 501(c)(3) standards, upholds financial stability and liquidity, and manages cash flow along with investment portfolios.
• Collaborates with the Vice President of Finance & Administration to address complex challenges, manage resources effectively, and eliminate obstacles that hinder staff and departments from reaching organizational objectives.
• Leads, supervises, and mentors a small team of four additional staff members to guarantee accurate, timely, and values-driven financial operations.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred.
• Must possess experience in managing investment portfolios, including performance monitoring and risk assessment.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant accounting and financial management experience, ideally within nonprofit or philanthropic environments.
• At least five (5) years of supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems is essential; experience with Sage Intacct and Bill.com is strongly preferred.
• A solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles is required.
• Experience using tools such as Salesforce, Zoom, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, balance both strategic and tactical responsibilities, and excel in a fast-paced, inclusive atmosphere.
