This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Take responsibility for the performance and execution of a nationwide field service organization that includes Regional Managers, District Managers, and numerous technicians.
• Foster accountability and performance throughout all levels of the field organization.
• Guarantee consistent and high-quality implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance across all locations.
• Establish clear operational rhythms, expectations, and performance benchmarks.
• Lead proactively in cultivating and maintaining a top-tier safety culture.
• Ensure complete compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and all safety requirements set by the company and clients.
• Develop scalable safety initiatives, training programs, and accountability mechanisms across all regions.
• Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to avert recurrence.
• Promote measurable improvements in both leading and lagging safety metrics.
• Design, implement, and enforce standardized procedures and SOPs for all field operations.
• Minimize variability in execution by ensuring consistency in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Scale systems, tools, and workflows to accommodate rapid growth in portfolio and organization.
• Champion the adoption of CMMS, digital field tools, and data-driven decision-making.
• Manage key performance metrics, including safety, uptime, response time, productivity, and quality.
• Quickly identify gaps and act urgently to resolve issues and enhance performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that significantly affect reliability and cost efficiency.
• Ensure high-quality field data and reporting to facilitate operational and executive decision-making.
• Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional field leaders and technicians.
• Establish clear career paths, training programs, and performance expectations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and ongoing development.
• Align workforce planning and resource allocation with business requirements across a national landscape.
• Ensure a swift and effective response to outages and service incidents in accordance with SLAs.
• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent execution and transparency.
• Promote a service-oriented mindset throughout the organization, focusing on reliability and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Performance Engineering, Project Management, Safety, and Quality teams to eliminate barriers and enhance performance.
• Align field operations with broader company strategies, growth targets, and financial goals.
• Provide clear, data-driven updates to executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience leading field operations, service, or O&M organizations in the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors.
• Strong preference for utility-scale solar experience; experience in related energy sectors (wind, T&D, conventional generation, or industrial electrical services) is highly regarded.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large, geographically dispersed teams (100+ personnel preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to scale and professionalize field service organizations.
• Unwavering focus on safety, execution, and accountability.
• Strong operational instincts with the capability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Experience in implementing standardized processes across multiple regions.
• Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels.
• High ownership mindset and a tendency to take action.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout the United States.
