
Director of Facilities Engineering – AI Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Develop and oversee the comprehensive facilities engineering program for greenfield campuses, powered-shell projects, modular deployments, expansions, and chosen retrofit initiatives.
• Act as the principal technical authority from site assessment and due diligence through the phases of design, construction, commissioning, transition, and initial operational readiness.
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the facilities operations of multiple AI Factories (data centers), ensuring continuous 24/7 uptime and excellence in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
• Formulate and implement the facilities engineering strategy for AI data centers located across various campuses nationwide.
• Assemble and manage teams focused on electrical, mechanical, controls, and reliability engineering.
• Set engineering standards, technical specifications, and design guidelines across multiple facilities to address the ever-evolving demands of AI data center white space.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, data centers, industrial, or power infrastructure.
• More than 7 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems that support high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with hyperscale, AI, or HPC data center infrastructure.
• Understanding of engineering design, commissioning, and reliability engineering practices.
