This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate a multi-year strategy for facilities and engineering that aligns with corporate objectives.
• Set standards for engineering performance, maintenance practices, and capital planning.
• Act as a senior advisor to the COO and Ownership on matters related to facilities performance, risks, and portfolio requirements.
• Manage emergency preparedness infrastructure and ensure adherence to generator and environmental regulations.
• Supervise all facilities operations within the portfolio, guaranteeing building readiness, system integrity, and compliance with regulations.
• Enforce enterprise-wide CMMS standards (TELS or similar) for preventive maintenance, work orders, and asset lifecycle management.
• Propel continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
• Perform quarterly inspections of the portfolio and manage corrective action planning.
• Verify the optimal operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and environmental control systems.
• Supervise critical systems including HVAC, emergency power, fire/life safety, elevators, access control, and water management.
• Create testing schedules, ensure certification compliance, and establish system performance benchmarks.
• Develop and manage Ciel’s multi-year capital improvement plan.
• Direct the scoping, bidding, contracting, and execution of CapEx projects, ensuring investments contribute to long-term asset stability, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.
• Maintain transparent reporting and forecasting for Ownership and Executive Leadership.
• Formulate an enterprise vendor strategy, negotiate master service agreements, and oversee contractor relationships.
• Guarantee procurement rigor, performance management, and alignment with Ciel quality standards.
• Oversee RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract execution.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing laws, building codes, life-safety codes, and directives from Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Lead fire marshal visits, prepare surveys, and manage follow-up remediation.
• Keep regulatory documentation, inspection logs, and life-safety binders updated.
• Develop and manage annual budgets for repairs & maintenance, utilities, and capital expenditures.
• Analyze financial performance, control expenses, and support value engineering initiatives.
• Review monthly financial reports, identify variances, and implement corrective measures.
• Mentor and develop maintenance leaders at the regional and community levels.
• Foster a culture of accountability, hospitality, safety, and technical expertise.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of facilities staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 7–10+ years of progressive leadership in multi-site facilities management within senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial real estate.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, life-safety codes, CMMS systems, and capital planning.
• Proven experience in leading large teams and managing complex facility operations.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Travel requirement: 90–100%.
