Director of Estimating – Gas Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all estimating and preconstruction efforts for utility-scale gas power generation projects, from the identification of opportunities to project award.

• Formulate estimating strategies that effectively balance technical excellence, commercial competitiveness, timelines, constructability, and overall project risk.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction, Commercial Operations, and Project Management teams to produce comprehensive, high-quality proposals.

• Evaluate engineering concepts, preliminary designs, procurement strategies, schedules, and technical assumptions to ensure that project solutions are both competitive and executable.

• Lead multidisciplinary bid teams tasked with engineering coordination, estimating, procurement planning, subcontractor engagement, and assessing commercial risks.

• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with Owners, equipment manufacturers, Engineers of Record (EOR), suppliers, subcontractors, and essential industry partners.

• Assist in the development of proposals for gas turbines, reciprocating engines, single-cycle, and combined-cycle generation facilities, while seeking opportunities for value engineering and innovation.

• Direct estimating teams in scope development, quantity validation, pricing strategies, contingency planning, and proposal evaluations.

• Promote continuous improvement by applying estimating best practices, lessons learned, process enhancements, and innovative delivery strategies.

• Mentor, guide, and develop estimating leaders while fostering a high-performing preconstruction team.

• Partner with executive leadership to support business development strategies and drive long-term growth in the gas power generation sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of leadership experience in estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or project management within utility-scale power generation, industrial construction, EPC, or heavy infrastructure.

• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary estimating teams and crafting complex EPC proposals.

• Strong comprehension of engineering, procurement, construction, commercial risk, and project delivery strategies.
