
Director of Engineering – Quality and Engineering Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and expand a high-performing engineering team encompassing QA, support, and engineering operations.
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and ongoing professional development of the team while promoting technical excellence.
• Guide team members through technical hurdles, champion their continuous development, and assist in their career progression.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ongoing improvement, customer orientation, and operational excellence.
• Take ownership of the product quality assurance strategy, tools, frameworks, and quality standards.
• Lead the QA organization accountable for test automation, release validation, regression testing, and quality governance.
• Promote a shift-left quality mindset across engineering teams.
• Define quality KPIs such as defect escape rates, test coverage, release quality, and customer-reported issues.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure quality is integrated throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Oversee technical support and escalation management functions. Create support processes, service levels, escalation paths, and operational reporting.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and remediation initiatives that enhance platform stability and resilience.
• Detect recurring customer issues and implement systematic improvements to alleviate support burdens.
• Construct data-driven operational reviews that empower leadership to make informed decisions.
• Ensure transparency regarding engineering performance and potential areas for improvement.
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance, DevOps, technical operations, or similar roles.
• More than 5 years of experience managing engineering teams responsible for QA, support, reliability, or engineering operations.
• In-depth understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and contemporary engineering practices.
• Experience in establishing engineering metrics programs and leveraging data to drive organizational enhancements.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional operational initiatives that involve engineering, product, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams.
• Proven experience in building and scaling operational processes within SaaS, enterprise software, or technology organizations.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and management abilities.
