This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.
• Oversee staffing and capacity visibility throughout all engineering squads, aligning capacity with organizational priorities.
• Adjust team allocations as project priorities change; anticipate and identify potential capacity gaps.
• Collaborate with the recruitment team on hiring strategies and manage staffing through contractors and vendors.
• Supervise team leads on planning, resource allocation, and delivery schedules, while the engineering leader focuses on technical guidance.
• Take ownership of resource-level scheduling and coordinate responses in the event of timeline delays.
• Monitor delivery across teams while highlighting risks and dependencies.
• Conduct planning and reporting to provide the engineering leader with transparent status updates.
• Maintain a reliable inventory and dashboard for around 40 third-party technical agreements.
• Keep track of agreement scopes, terms, fees, ownership, renewal, and termination dates.
• Coordinate new and renewing agreements with Legal, Finance, and vendors.
• Assist in negotiations and manage vendor communications effectively.
• Oversee operational vendor relationships, onboarding, technical coordination, issue escalation, and SLA monitoring.
• Manage recurring administrative and coordination tasks, prepare necessary materials, track action items, and ensure operational details are followed through.
• Act as a trusted extension of the engineering leader, proactively addressing operational needs.
• 7+ years of experience in or adjacent to software engineering.
• Strong background in operations and management.
• Demonstrated experience in staffing, capacity management, and delivery coordination for 25–50+ engineers.
• Direct experience managing vendor or third-party technical agreements, including terms, renewals, and negotiations at a significant scale.
• Highly organized and methodical, with the capability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Technical proficiency adequate to coordinate between engineers and vendors and comprehend agreement coverage; coding skills are not necessary.
• Comfortable functioning as a trusted right hand to a leader, with a strong commitment to follow-through.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills across Engineering, Product, Legal, and Finance teams.
• Familiarity with planning and tracking tools such as Jira and Linear.
• Understanding of contract/vendor management practices.
• Must be based in the USA or Canada.
• Able to maintain adequate daily overlap with the team and engineering leader.
• Comfortable working within a distributed organization.
• Nice to have: experience in a fast-paced product company, particularly in gaming, consumer, or high-growth software sectors.
• Nice to have: background in roles such as chief of staff, engineering operations lead, or technical program lead.
