Director of Engineering, Creative Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand a multidisciplinary engineering team, nurturing a culture of mentorship, transparency, and accountability.

• Design and enhance the infrastructure, systems, and codebase that support Wolf’s live, episodic games.

• Establish and execute best practices for web-based game architecture, build pipelines, and deployment standards.

• Propel the creation of internal automation tools and systems that expedite content creation and game delivery.

• Manage hybrid cloud operations (Google Cloud + AWS), ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

• Advocate for observability, automated testing, and CI/CD systems to facilitate daily content delivery.

• Collaborate with AI and content systems teams to integrate creative workflows with automation pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, preferably in games, creative technology, or live media.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React/Next.js.

• Strong foundation in cloud-native architecture (GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability).

• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining scalable delivery or automation systems.

• Proven history of leading small, high-impact teams through technical growth and transitions.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and workflow automation.

• Deep appreciation for engineering excellence — thoughtful design, testing rigor, and dependable systems.
