This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +3 more states.
• Lead a diverse engineering team throughout the complete life-cycle development and delivery of cutting-edge digital Camera Mirror Systems (CMS) and ADAS vision systems.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive system architecture that encompasses sensor, optics, ISP, ECU, and display integration.
• Ensure the delivery of homologation-ready CMS solutions that adhere to UN R46 standards.
• Monitor the progress of engineering projects, ensuring that budget, quality, delivery, and functionality targets are achieved.
• Drive scalability and cost optimization across various product lines.
• Develop proposals for product enhancements and innovative new products.
• Define and implement the camera product line strategy for CMS and ADAS platforms.
• Build strong relationships with Business Development/Sales, Product Line Management, Advanced Product Development, and Program Management.
• Establish objectives for engineering teams and ensure the necessary team capabilities are in place.
• Manage budget planning and oversight.
• Translate intricate technical solutions into business value for various stakeholders.
• Identify client challenges and align customized CMS and ADAS solutions with strategic and operational objectives.
• Link engineering solutions to quantifiable business outcomes, including ROI, cost efficiency, and competitive positioning.
• Report directly to the VP of Engineering & Innovation.
• Travel frequently within Europe and globally.
• 12–15+ years of experience in automotive engineering, specifically focused on camera mirror systems, imaging, and ADAS or vision-based systems.
• At least 5 years in a technical leadership position, ideally within a global automotive organization.
• Profound understanding of sensor and optics integration, ISP tuning, and low-light/HDR imaging.
• Familiarity with UN R46 homologation requirements is highly advantageous.
• A proven history of leading global engineering teams and successfully launching SOPs.
• Knowledge of automotive development methodologies, including ASPICE.
• Familiarity with automotive core tools such as IATF16949, APQP, and DFMEA.
• Experience with functional safety ISO 26262.
• Awareness of SOTIF ISO 21448.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in the 8D methodology.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Ability to function effectively in global, cross-cultural environments.
