Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead the engineering strategy and structure for KYX encompassing onboarding identity, access, due diligence, continuous monitoring, and risk assessment.

• Oversee backend, frontend, data science, and ML engineering teams located in Hyderabad, Delhi, Sofia, Belgrade, Bucharest, and Vilnius.

• Manage KYX Scoring & ML as a collective resource, which includes model development, backtesting, phased implementation, and production oversight.

• Enhance agentic AI within regulated workflows such as onboarding risk assessment, screening, review, and verification processes.

• Collaborate with KYX Operations, KYX Policy, Second Line of Defence, Product, and IAM teams across the UK, EU, and India.

• Achieve higher rates of automated decision-making, improved due diligence and screening quality, and reduced KYX costs per member.

• Develop solutions that can be deployed globally while maintaining market-specific logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading engineering organizations within identity, onboarding, fraud, financial crime, or other regulated decision-making fields.

• Strong history of transforming platform investments into quantifiable results including conversion rates, quality of due diligence, unit economics, and workflow automation.

• Experience in scaling machine learning from development to production and managing live model performance.

• Familiarity with operating in a regulated environment, working alongside Operations, Policy, second-line risk, and compliance functions.

• Excellent judgement in organizational design, delivery, platform strategy, data architecture, and technical excellence.

• Capability to lead distributed teams across various markets and align distinct engineering paths under a unified roadmap.

• Experience in implementing AI or agentic systems within regulated workflows, with a preference for governance, evaluation, and human oversight expertise.
