Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee AI-assisted engineering initiatives, provide coaching to direct reports, and resolve engineering obstacles.

• Uphold the quality standards across features and infrastructure.

• Manage and mentor the engineering hub located in the Americas.

• Ensure a smooth transition of product development, QA handoffs, and operational coverage between the Americas and EMEA time zones.

• Take ownership of sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery scheduling for all engineers based in the Americas.

• Guarantee that over 90% of planned engineering tasks are accomplished in each cycle.

• Recruit, hire, and onboard engineering professionals throughout the Americas region.

• Establish QA accountability in the Americas: create quality checkpoints, regression protocols, and testing standards.

• Propel the use of AI-assisted development tools as a force multiplier for the Americas team.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the nova platform, including APIs, data models, frontend architecture (React/TypeScript), and data infrastructure (Snowflake).

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a BS or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or possess equivalent experience.

• Have 7+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in modern web technologies (TypeScript, React, Node.js) and backend API design.

• Possess 3+ years of engineering management experience, particularly in leading distributed and remote teams.

• Exhibit proven experience in managing and strategically expanding an engineering team.

• Have familiarity with cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, or comparable services).

• Demonstrate a history of implementing or working within a cross-timezone engineering framework.

• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring engineering talent in the Americas market is essential.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows is highly preferred.
