Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Recruit, inspire, lead, and oversee highly skilled teams dedicated to delivering online security and machine learning solutions at scale.

• Serve as a bridge between product development, engineering, customers, and sales to effectively communicate and translate intricate business requirements and technological solutions into valuable products.

• Uphold a high standard of assurance and software quality while ensuring development speed: availability is crucial to almost every requirement.

• Define, drive, and manage automation and instrumentation to guarantee we maintain high observability and automate break-fix processes wherever feasible.

• Collaborate with sales and product teams to model go-to-market strategies for new offerings, oversee architecture, enhance client acquisition capabilities, and improve delivery processes.

• Establish effective hiring and onboarding strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in leading engineering teams comprising 20-60 individuals, with a solid foundation in security products and machine learning.

• Familiarity with high availability and high security development processes, complemented by strong knowledge of Python, NodeJS, and either Go or Rust.

• Proven experience and success in DevOps/systems integration, lightweight development methodologies, adherence to stringent SLAs, and test-driven design in large-scale internet-facing systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems design on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, including queue-first architectures and sharding.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated expertise in architecture and mapping business/product needs (gathering requirements, problem-solving, and reasoning about the optimal way forward considering needs, timelines, and available resources).
