This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +6 more states.
• Formulate a dynamic, prioritized development strategy informed by proposal outcomes, discussions with funders, and market trends.
• Determine key focus areas across various programs and regions based on funder interest, pipeline strength, and organizational objectives.
• Ensure transparency regarding the funding pipeline by funder, program, chapter, and stage, highlighting potential risks and gaps.
• Translate strategy into actionable guidance for opportunity prioritization, proposal adjustments, and team resource allocation.
• Provide counsel to the CEO and program leaders concerning funding strategies.
• Lead and nurture the global platform-level development team, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluation.
• Convert development strategy into ongoing team work plans detailing ownership, resources, and timelines.
• Facilitate collaboration among platform staff, country leaders, fundraisers, and program directors.
• Manage fundraising operations, including pipeline reviews, proposal coordination, and prioritization meetings.
• Oversee multi-country and multi-program proposals, ensuring cohesive narratives and budgets.
• Develop and sustain a centralized library of fundraising materials.
• Create and update funder and conference presentations using modular content.
• Collaborate with the Chief Communications Officer on messaging, program updates, and adherence to brand standards.
• Provide tools, templates, frameworks, and assistance for effective fundraising and consistent reporting.
• Establish feedback mechanisms from funder and country engagement to inform strategy and planning.
• Manage fundraising CRM and pipeline-tracking systems, ensuring data integrity and consistent usage.
• Generate regular and ad hoc leadership reports and dashboards on pipeline status, funder trends, and fundraising objectives.
• Standardize proposal, reporting, and stewardship templates and processes.
• Monitor outcomes against the strategy and refine it using emerging data.
• Ensure timely completion of fundraising protocols and internal and external reporting to consistent quality standards.
• Achieve reliable global pipeline visibility and decision-making information within the first 6–12 months.
• Establish an effective operating rhythm and enhance coordination among platform, country, and program teams.
• Develop consistent practices for CRM and pipeline management.
• Create an easily accessible library of standardized fundraising materials and tools.
• Establish feedback loops that connect funder insights, performance metrics, and development strategy.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in fundraising, development operations, or closely related strategy/operations roles.
• At least 5 years of direct involvement in nonprofit or philanthropic fundraising.
• Proven experience in translating frontline or field-level insights into strategic priorities.
• Experience in managing or closely coordinating distributed teams, including non-direct-report relationships.
• Strong background with CRM and pipeline systems, effectively translating data into actionable decisions.
• Familiarity with climate, clean energy, or entrepreneurship support sectors is highly advantageous.
• Structured and analytical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize qualitative field input into informed recommendations.
• Flexibility in adapting to evolving structures and workflows; a self-starter with a growth-oriented mindset.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to cultivate trust across diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Exceptional written communication skills for articulating concise strategies and proposals.
• Strong project management capabilities across multiple concurrent proposals, deadlines, and stakeholders.
• Capacity to function as an internal partner and connective role within the organization.
• Ability to collaborate with global teams across different time zones, with occasional travel for meetings and conferences.
• Proficiency in database/CRM management, Google Workspace, and Slack.
• Foundational knowledge of global clean energy and climate change solutions is preferred.
• Experience in building or structuring an early-stage development operations function is preferred.
