This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Lead and enhance the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives for the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.
• Foster relationships and cultivate/solicit gifts ranging from six to seven figures.
• Broaden the prospect pipeline within and outside the specified regions.
• Develop and implement strategies for a portfolio of annual and major gift prospects.
• Oversee a portfolio of over 100 six- and seven-figure prospects.
• Create tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Establish and maintain relationships with prospects and donors through visits, correspondence, and regular communication.
• Identify new prospects and design as well as execute donor engagement initiatives.
• Plan and carry out events for diverse audiences in collaboration with the Events team.
• Collaborate with local board members, alumni, regional connectors, and volunteers on fundraising activities.
• Work alongside the Executive Leadership Team regarding select high-capacity donors.
• Suggest and organize development travel for principals and their representatives.
• Partner with regional fundraisers and exchange best practices.
• Represent the Development team at conferences and networking events.
• Promote a culture of philanthropy throughout the Foundation.
• Enhance Salesforce utilization to monitor and assess key metrics.
• Leverage data to refine practices and guide decision-making.
• Ensure the prompt creation and dissemination of fundraising and stewardship materials, collateral, briefings, and personalized proposals.
• Achieve fundraising objectives and key performance metrics.
• Assist in leading and executing regional development events.
• Plan, propose, and staff Foundation executive travel to the region.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.
• 8 - 10 years of experience in fundraising for complex and evolving organizations.
• Preference for knowledge of regional markets such as Seattle, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and other emerging areas like Texas or Colorado.
• Proven track record in building relationships with major donors, ideally with a history of securing gifts of $1M or more.
• In-depth understanding of fundraising programs and high-level gift strategies.
