This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take charge of and expand the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives for the Northeast region in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development, East.
• Develop and implement strategies for a portfolio of major gifts donors and prospects.
• Oversee a portfolio comprising 100 six and seven-figure prospects, creating tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospects and donors through visits, written communication, regular updates, and events.
• Identify new prospects and design as well as execute donor engagement opportunities alongside Development Operations.
• Plan and carry out events of various themes and scales for diverse audiences.
• Forge partnerships with alumni and volunteers to bolster regional fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team on select high-capacity donors, including preparing for meetings and following up thereafter.
• Suggest and organize development travel for key principals and their representatives.
• Work together with other regional fundraisers to share best practices.
• Represent the Development team at conferences and networking events.
• Collaborate across the Foundation to promote a culture of philanthropy.
• Enhance Salesforce usage to monitor and assess key metrics, utilizing data to refine practices and guide decision-making.
• Ensure the prompt creation and distribution of fundraising and stewardship materials, collateral, briefings, and personalized proposals.
• Achieve fundraising goals and key performance indicators.
• Broaden the prospect pipeline.
• Assist in leading and executing regional development events.
• Propose, organize, and staff Foundation executive travel to the region.
• 8 - 10 years of experience in fundraising, including at least five years in a leadership role directly securing funds.
• Proven history of cultivating relationships with major donors, with a preference for closing gifts of $1M or more.
• Strong comprehension of fundraising programs and high-level gift strategies, including Planned Giving.
