Director of Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement strategies for a portfolio focused on major gifts donors and prospects.

• Oversee a portfolio consisting of 100 six and seven-figure prospects, creating tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.

• Establish and nurture relationships with prospects and donors through in-person visits, written correspondence, ongoing communication, and events.

• Work alongside Development Operations to identify new potential donors and create engaging donor opportunities.

• Plan and implement events targeting diverse audiences in collaboration with the Events team.

• Forge partnerships with alumni and volunteers to enhance regional fundraising efforts.

• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team on select high-capacity donors, including preparing for meetings and conducting follow-ups.

• Propose and coordinate development travel for key principals and their representatives.

• Partner with regional fundraisers and share best practices to enhance effectiveness.

• Represent the Development team at various conferences and gatherings.

• Work collaboratively across the Foundation to foster a culture of philanthropy.

• Enhance Salesforce usage to track and assess key metrics, leading to improved practices.

• Ensure the timely creation and distribution of fundraising and stewardship materials, including collateral, briefings, and personalized proposals.

• Achieve fundraising targets and key performance metrics.

• Broaden the prospect pipeline and implement stewardship and engagement strategies.

• Assist in leading regional development events and coordinate Foundation executive travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of experience in fundraising, including at least five years in a leadership role securing funds directly.

• Proven success in building relationships with major donors, ideally with a history of closing gifts of $1M or more.

• Thorough understanding of fundraising programs and advanced gift strategies, including Planned Giving.

• Capability to foster and maintain long-term, effective relationships both internally and externally.
