This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead and expand the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives for Northern California in collaboration with the Senior Director, West.
• Establish relationships and cultivate/solicit gifts in the six- and seven-figure range.
• Develop and implement strategies for a portfolio comprising annual and major-gift prospects.
• Oversee a portfolio of over 100 seven-figure prospects, creating tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Foster and manage relationships with prospects and donors through visits, correspondence, and ongoing communication.
• Identify potential new prospects and design as well as execute donor engagement opportunities alongside Development Operations.
• Plan and carry out events for diverse audiences in partnership with the Events team.
• Collaborate with board members and regional volunteers on fundraising initiatives.
• Work with the Executive Leadership Team on select high-capacity donors, including preparing for meetings and follow-up actions.
• Suggest and coordinate development travel for key principals and their representatives.
• Partner with regional fundraisers to share best practices.
• Represent the Development team at conferences and networking events.
• Enhance Salesforce usage to track and assess key performance metrics.
• Utilize data to refine practices and guide decision-making.
• Ensure the timely creation and distribution of fundraising/stewardship materials, collateral, briefings, and personalized proposals.
• Achieve fundraising targets and key performance metrics.
• Assist in leading and executing regional development events.
• Propose, plan, and provide staffing for Foundation executive travel to the region.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• 8–10 years of experience in fundraising for complex and evolving organizations.
• Preference for regional expertise and experience in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Wine Country, and other local areas.
• Proven track record of building relationships with major donors, ideally securing gifts of at least $1M or more.
• In-depth understanding of fundraising programs and high-level gift strategies.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term, productive relationships both internally and externally.
