This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Drive talent development across CEA’s Events, Groups, Online, and Courses initiatives.
• Build and nurture a team of outstanding leaders through hiring, coaching, and empowering program leaders.
• Establish priorities, allocate resources, and make strategic trade-offs within the Community Growth Team.
• Contribute to organization-wide strategy as a member of CEA’s Leadership Team.
• Collaborate across functions to help shape the future direction of CEA.
• Foster a collaborative culture and identify opportunities for teams to enhance funding growth and CEA’s reputation.
• Define overarching talent growth objectives for CEA in conjunction with product owners and organizational leaders.
• Determine investment areas and identify programs to expand, modify, or discontinue.
• Accelerate the growth of the EA community through sound product and impact judgment.
• Potentially develop new programs to address strategic gaps.
• Report directly to the CEO, Zachary Robinson.
• Participate in CEA retreats, conferences, and various events, likely involving over 5 trips annually, including several international trips.
• Strong alignment with values and a deep understanding of effective altruism principles and CEA’s mission.
• Familiarity with the EA community sufficient to provide strategic insights and grasp ecosystem-wide implications.
• Proven experience in senior leadership roles within a complex organization.
• Experience in setting direction, making informed decisions amid uncertainty, and translating strategy into actionable plans.
• Established history of building and leading high-achieving teams.
• Experience in hiring and developing managers, fostering ownership and accountability, establishing high standards, and addressing performance challenges.
• Product development mindset and experience in designing experiments with clear success metrics.
• Capability to make difficult decisions backed by qualitative and quantitative data.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to navigate ambiguity, uncertainty, and fast-paced scaling environments.
• Strategic vision and the capacity to empower teams to implement strategies and inspire shared objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with CEA and leaders from other EA organizations.
• Experience in product management roles, nonprofit program leadership, senior generalist positions, growth-oriented roles, or startup generalist roles may be beneficial.
• Preferably able to work across time zones between US Pacific Time and CET.
• Willingness to undertake 5+ trips annually, including several international journeys.
