This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in core finance and business operations activities, such as coordinating payroll, managing accounts payable workflows, providing budgeting assistance, and handling recurring reports.
• Oversee people operations functions, including onboarding and offboarding processes, benefits management, tracking leaves, and conducting performance review cycles.
• Ensure operational compliance, coordinate with vendors, manage insurance renewals, and oversee ongoing administrative tasks.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with external fractional partners and contractors, collaborating closely to guarantee operational continuity and follow-through.
• Offer daily guidance and support to one direct report.
• Assist leadership with operational planning, cross-functional collaboration, documentation, and the management of daily business operations.
• Detect operational inefficiencies and contribute to the enhancement of internal processes and workflows as needed.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in business operations, finance operations, people operations, or related roles in startup environments.
• Proven experience in dynamic startup settings.
• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities and changing deadlines concurrently.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment within established parameters.
• Excellent written communication and documentation capabilities.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to follow-through.
• Ability to function calmly and effectively amid uncertainty.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with leadership, vendors, direct reports, and staff.
• Strong orientation towards systems and processes.
• Nice to Have: Experience in supporting remote-first companies.
• Familiarity with SaaS business operations and recurring revenue models.
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems, benefits administration, or compliance processes.
• Experience providing support to executive leadership teams.
• Familiarity with tools such as Rippling, Carta, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, Xero, or similar operational systems.
