This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.
• Secure new revenue from Electric and Gas utilities in the Northeastern United States by driving new sales and collaborating with Resource Innovations' regulatory, delivery, and shared services teams.
• Meet annual sales quota objectives.
• Enhance company revenue by expanding energy efficiency (EE), demand response (DR), and other Distributed Energy Resources (DER) services and programs to electric and gas utilities in targeted geographic areas, helping the company achieve its sales and bookings goals.
• Collaborate closely with our Delivery and Operations teams to ensure outstanding customer service and uncover new opportunities for our regional delivery operations team.
• Create and execute integrated business development and sales strategies, including detailed strategic sales and account plans to acquire new utility clients and grow our business with existing utility accounts.
• Act as a Resource Innovations advocate within regional teams to ensure the fulfillment of our brand promise, focusing on customer satisfaction and experience.
• Collaborate with business unit operations leaders, company subject matter experts, and national support service teams to devise tailored solutions that meet the needs of potential or current clients.
• Proactively identify client and market needs by working with Sector Leads and Delivery Leaders to develop new solutions and product offerings.
• Conduct meetings with all Investor-Owned Utilities and significant Municipal Utilities within the assigned sales service territory each calendar year.
• Implement process improvements as necessary to enhance quality, creativity, sales and account management processes, and customer service.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and contractors.
• Lead and support the proposal development process by offering the proposal team insights on key market and client drivers, as well as strategic guidance on competitive positioning, approach, and pricing.
• Contribute to the growth of Resource Innovations' capital by assisting with product development, product enhancements, and the creation of new tools and program ideas.
• Support project launches and ensure a seamless transition of clients to project implementation teams.
• Collaborate with delivery team leaders on opportunities within their region and utility accounts.
• Provide operational and support services feedback to relevant leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must reside in the Northeastern United States.
• This role requires approximately 50% regional travel across an assigned multi-state sales territory to visit utility customers and prospects.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience working with and selling to Electric and Gas utilities is required.
• A degree from a 4-year accredited college or university is necessary.
• Experience in selling Demand Side Management (DSM) programs and/or renewable energy to utilities is essential.
• A solid understanding of state regulatory cycles related to Utility Demand Side Management (DSM) programs—Energy Efficiency (EE), Demand Response (DR), Transportation Electrification (TE), Electric Vehicle (EV), Building Electrification (BE), and Solar Programs—is required.
• Established Mid- and Senior-level relationships with electric and gas utilities throughout the Northeast region are a must.
• A strong interest in sustainability and a passion for making a significant environmental impact are essential.
• Resource Innovations provides competitive salaries based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
• The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $155,000 - $175,000, plus commission.
• Employees may also qualify for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
