This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and own the analytics strategy for Scale, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and various departments to identify their data requirements, ensuring analytics solutions meet their goals.
• Discover opportunities to utilize data, AI, and predictive analytics to enhance business performance and decision-making processes.
• Manage Scale's marketing measurement framework, which includes experimentation design (lift/geo testing), incrementality, MMM, and MTA, along with the statistical methodologies that support these efforts.
• Construct and oversee retention analytics and LTV models, focusing on churn and contribution-margin predictions.
• Oversee the marketing data pipeline from start to finish, ensuring that channel data is comprehensive, accurate, and ready for analysis.
• Possess a strong familiarity with paid and owned marketing channels, including their respective metrics and analytical approaches.
• Build and manage financial forecasts for a marketing-centric business.
• Model unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, margin) and establish marketing targets based on these economics and our growth ambitions.
• Collaborate with finance and growth teams to create a unified, trustworthy view of spend, revenue, and profitability.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the analytics team, directly overseeing our Manager of Data Analytics and providing indirect guidance to the broader analyst team.
• Define and supervise the data engineering roadmap, prioritizing and setting standards for the pipelines and infrastructure that drive our analytics.
• Establish clear goals, priorities, and professional development plans for the team, promoting a data-driven and collaborative environment.
• Offer guidance on best practices, methodologies, data structure, and tools across the analytics function.
• Maintain ownership of our data architecture, collaborating across our data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) and source systems (e.g., Shopify, Amazon) to ensure data is precise, reliable, and well-organized.
• Utilize statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive modeling to generate insights for future planning.
• Implement and sustain the analytics tools and platforms that facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
• Create and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for executive leadership.
• Design and construct dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Sigma) that convert intricate data into straightforward, actionable insights.
• Establish reporting frameworks that maintain data accuracy and consistency across the organization, including some inventory and operations analytics.
• Collaborate with marketing, growth, finance, IT, and operations to translate business inquiries into data solutions.
• Effectively communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership in a concise and persuasive manner.
• Operate the function in sprints, employing tight project management with clear prioritization against quarterly objectives.
• Over 8 years of experience in data analytics, with progressive leadership experience in managing analytics teams, including managers.
• Proven history of overseeing end-to-end analytics for a marketing-focused or DTC/ecommerce business.
• In-depth expertise in marketing measurement, including experimentation, incrementality, MMM, and MTA, along with the underlying statistics.
• Experience with retention analytics, LTV modeling, and predicting churn/contribution margins.
• Background in financial forecasting and unit economics modeling, including establishing marketing targets based on unit economics and growth objectives.
• Strong hands-on technical skills in SQL and Python, data modeling, and machine learning/predictive modeling.
• Proficient in Claude Code (or similar AI coding tools) for data manipulation and analytics.
• Familiarity with a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake) and DTC source data (e.g., Shopify, Amazon).
• Experience in maintaining a BI platform and creating dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Sigma).
• Experience in defining a data engineering roadmap and collaborating with or supervising data engineers.
• A strong commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
• Proven experience partnering with executive stakeholders to translate data insights into business strategy.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to present complex data to non-technical audiences.
