This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and enhance AML frameworks, strategies for virtual asset compliance, sanctions, risk assessments, transaction monitoring, and investigative processes.
• Provide guidance to financial institutions and VASPs on compliance with virtual asset regulations, regulatory expectations, and risks associated with blockchain-related financial crimes.
• Keep track of regulatory changes and convert them into actionable compliance guidance and product specifications.
• When necessary, act as MLRO or assist the designated MLRO with reviews of suspicious activities and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, business development teams, regulators, law enforcement, and other industry stakeholders.
• Act as a senior subject matter expert on AML and compliance for virtual assets.
• Contribute to enhancing the company's compliance capabilities and provide advice to financial institutions and VASPs.
• Interact with regulators, law enforcement agencies, clients, and industry partners.
• Previous experience as an MLRO, Chief Compliance Officer, Head of Financial Crime, or in a comparable senior compliance position.
• Experience in both traditional financial institutions and the virtual asset sector.
• In-depth knowledge of AML, financial crime, sanctions, transaction monitoring, regulatory compliance, and reporting, as well as risks associated with virtual asset financial crimes.
• Practical experience with blockchain analytics, KYT, wallet screening, or related on-chain compliance tools and processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• CAMS or an equivalent AML certification.
• Bonus: Experience managing the AML program for a regulated entity, VASP licensing, regulatory examinations, or remediation efforts.
• Bonus: Established connections with regulators, law enforcement, banks, exchanges, or entities within the virtual asset industry.
