This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +4 more countries.
• Oversee the Accounting & Controlling department, ensuring precise, timely, and compliant financial operations across various entities and jurisdictions.
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Accounting & Controlling as a strategic partner, aiding in setting priorities, leading the team, and advancing the finance roadmap.
• Manage, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing accounting team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Take charge of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, guaranteeing high-quality financial reporting and robust balance sheet integrity.
• Enhance our internal control framework and ensure adherence to IFRS and regulatory standards across all operating jurisdictions.
• Supervise revenue recognition policies and procedures for our subscription and usage-based business models.
• Lead the strategy and compliance for indirect taxes (VAT/GST, digital services taxes, and associated obligations), collaborating with external advisors as necessary.
• Manage transfer pricing frameworks, intercompany accounting, and cross-border financial operations.
• Collaborate with Legal, FP&A, People, and external advisors to facilitate international expansion, entity formation, and regulatory compliance.
• Direct external audits and statutory reporting processes, ensuring effective execution and strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Propel finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, automation, ERP optimization, and scalability enhancements.
• Develop internal accounting capabilities while minimizing reliance on external advisors where feasible.
• Provide leadership and continuity within the function, representing the VP of Accounting & Controlling as needed.
• Extensive experience in leading accounting and controlling functions within a high-growth technology or SaaS context.
• Proven track record of managing and developing accounting teams in a dynamic, international business environment.
• Strong technical accounting proficiency with comprehensive knowledge of IFRS.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction accounting settings.
• In-depth understanding of revenue recognition, especially for subscription and usage-based business models.
• Experience in overseeing indirect tax compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Solid grasp of financial controls, risk management, and audit procedures.
• Experience collaborating with executive stakeholders and influencing cross-functional decisions.
• A pragmatic, hands-on leadership approach with the readiness to engage in details as required.
• Exceptional communication abilities and the capacity to establish trusted relationships across the organization.
