Director of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Modernize the technology stack by overseeing the request for proposal (RFP) process and the implementation of a new, AI-driven ERP system.

• Transition the entire accounting function in-house, taking over from the outsourced firm.

• Re-engineer processes and data integrations to achieve a monthly close by Business Day 10.

• Develop and implement accounting processes with a strong emphasis on automation.

• Take full ownership of the results related to people, processes, and systems.

• Integrate AI tools into your daily operations seamlessly.

• Collaborate closely as a genuine business partner to the CEO, CFO, and the entire leadership team, leveraging financial insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 4 years managing the close process in a high-growth, venture-backed startup.

• Experience in personally implementing or running an AI-native ERP, with proficiency in tools such as Brex, Bill.com, Stripe, Justworks, and QBO.

• A strong willingness to engage in hands-on work.

• A determination to investigate until the financial figures are clear and accurate.

• A CPA designation is highly preferred, and a background in a Big 4 firm is a significant advantage.

• Relevant experience in the healthcare sector (telehealth), direct-to-consumer subscriptions, or working across various legal entities, including professional corporation structures.

• Proven experience in preparing a startup for its inaugural institutional audit.
