This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversees contract negotiations with Major Health Systems and large physician groups in West and North Texas, as well as national ancillary providers, handling multiple negotiations concurrently to meet growth objectives.

• Possesses extensive knowledge and experience with complex contracts to ensure that the terms and conditions effectively address the coding structures most affected by negotiations.

• Acts as a people manager and mentor, directly supervising a team of negotiators.

• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with high-volume contracting expectations; responsible for achieving a minimum number of contracts monthly while leading the team to do the same.

• Proactively develops relationships that foster provider partnerships to support local market strategies.

• Initiates, cultivates, and sustains effective communication channels with matrix partners, including Claims, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing.

• Accountable for meeting unit cost targets while maintaining a robust network to achieve a competitive position and identifying initiatives that enhance total medical cost and quality, including renegotiating existing agreements.

• Prepares, analyzes, reviews, and projects the financial impact of high-spend or increasingly complex provider contracts and alternative contract terms.

• Collaborates across functions to manage provider compensation and pricing development activities, submission of contractual information, and review and analysis of reports as part of negotiation and reimbursement modeling activities.

• Assists in addressing elevated provider service complaints by researching and negotiating with internal and external partners/customers to resolve complex and/or escalated issues.

• Manages key provider relationships and is responsible for critical interactions with providers and business personnel.

• Coaches and supports newer team members on strategies and methods for successful negotiations.

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of providers within a designated geographic region by understanding interrelationships and the competitive landscape.

• Collaborates with Regulatory Affairs to ensure timely and accurate network filings and works with Compliance to ensure adherence to established guidelines supporting Mental Health Parity.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience in provider negotiation and contracting with North Texas hospitals and/or substantial group contracting experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

• Remote work with occasional travel (5-10%).

• Established relationships with major health systems and large physician groups in North Texas.

• Over 7 years of experience with health plans or provider organizations.

• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation skills, as well as proficiency in contract language and financial acumen.

• Comprehensive understanding of the contract cycle from negotiation to credentialing and contract terms implementation.

• Experience in contracting and negotiations with Hospitals, Health Systems, Large Physician Groups, and Ancillary providers.

• Proven experience in developing and managing key provider relationships, including interactions with senior executives.

• Demonstrated ability to seek out, build, and maintain strong external relationships with provider partners.

• A team player with a proven track record of developing strong working relationships in a fast-paced, high-volume organization.

• Strong customer-centric approach and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Over 5 years of experience as a people manager.

• Familiarity with Google products is required.
