This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Supervise the creation and administration of insurance networks

• Enhance affordability and quality outcomes while managing relationships with providers and negotiation tactics

• Handle contract negotiations with major health systems, large physician groups, and ancillary providers

• Conduct multiple negotiations concurrently to meet growth objectives

• Cultivate relationships that foster provider partnerships and support the local market strategy

• Maintain communication with Claims, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing teams

• Achieve unit cost targets while maintaining a sufficient network

• Identify and oversee initiatives aimed at reducing total medical costs and enhancing quality, including the renegotiation of existing agreements

• Prepare, analyze, review, and project the financial implications of high-spend or complex provider contracts and alternative contract terms

• Collaborate across functions on provider compensation, pricing development, contractual details, and reimbursement modeling activities

• Assist in addressing elevated provider service complaints and complex or escalated issues

• Manage essential provider relationships and critical interactions with providers and business staff

• Mentor and support newer team members in negotiation strategies and techniques

• Exhibit knowledge of providers and the competitive landscape within an assigned geographic region

• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure timely and accurate network filings

• Work with Compliance to ensure adherence to guidelines supporting Mental Health Parity

• Perform additional duties as required


⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation skills, contract language expertise, and financial acumen

• Experience with complex hospital/health systems, large physician groups, and ancillary provider contracting and negotiations

• Familiarity with negotiating delegated credentialing agreements

• Proven experience in developing and managing key provider relationships, including with senior executives

• Demonstrated ability to seek out, build, and maintain strong external relationships with provider partners

• In-depth understanding and experience with larger, more complex integrated delivery systems, managed care, and provider business models

• Team-oriented individual with a proven capacity to develop strong working relationships within a fast-paced environment

• Ability to influence both sales and provider audiences through excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience delivering formal presentations

• Strong customer-centric and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university

• 7+ years of professional experience beyond the degree in provider contracting and/or health insurance

• Current experience with hospital and/or large group and ancillary contracting in the relevant state

• Established relationships with major health systems and large physician groups in the appropriate state

• Willingness to travel 5–10% of the time
