This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise claim handling entities related to Programs/MGAs to guarantee that authority limits are not exceeded, claims reporting is accurate and timely, coverage is suitable, consumer and customer service adheres to compliance, a quality auditing program is maintained and current, and general oversight of reserving and loss exposures is provided.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to onboard, develop and implement procedures, as well as oversee the daily technical and operational elements of US P&C Program/MGA business within the designated workload.
• Ensure adherence to claims handling protocols for U.S. claim handling entities.
• Assess reserves on particular claims and monitor the sufficiency of reserves at both portfolio and individual claim levels.
• Create and uphold relevant claims reports, including but not limited to trend analysis, claim lifecycle enhancements, and measures for indemnity containment.
• Analyze contract coverage upon referral from the Program/MGA to ascertain liability and the extent of participation in claims.
• Provide instructions and ongoing management of independent experts as necessary.
• Ensure that all claims activities are conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures and within the designated Claims Authority.
• Ensure strict compliance with claims escalation authorities and that claims are accurately and efficiently triaged/reported to the appropriate personnel.
• Foster cooperation and regular communication, including established routine interactions with other functions within SiriusPoint, such as Senior Management, Compliance, Underwriters, and the Actuarial team.
• Build, develop, and maintain relationships with brokers, ceding companies, lawyers, and loss adjusters regarding claims issues.
• Monitor risks arising from claims programs against the agreed SiriusPoint risk appetite/tolerances; promptly escalate risk events/control failures and take necessary actions to report and assist claims leadership in addressing these matters.
• If interested and qualified, there may be a chance to handle or consult on MGA/Program claims outside of the U.S. as part of a global Claims Team at SiriusPoint.
• Willingness to travel for MGA and Programs Claims audits, Claims Team meetings, or other industry events as needed.
• Perform any additional duties as reasonably required.
• Extensive claims adjusting or leadership experience (at least 10-15 years) within Casualty, Property, and specialty lines (Professional Lines) is preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing training and knowledge enhancement through participation in market seminars, completing training courses, and being actively involved in relevant professional networks.
• Ability to make sound decisions within the parameters of accepted claims turnaround practices.
• Capability to analyze claims data and utilize it to inform strategic decisions at both the individual claim and portfolio levels.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to represent the company (and its clients) effectively and professionally in the market.
• Skill to meet tight deadlines.
• Team-oriented individual, capable of mentoring and assisting in the development of employees.
• B.A./B.S. or an equivalent University degree. Additional insurance-related certifications and credentials are preferred but not mandatory.
