Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs – Cardiovascular Imaging

📋 Description

• Deliver scientific and medical leadership for cardiovascular imaging initiatives, facilitating protocol development, imaging endpoint strategy, study design, and imaging charter creation.

• Act as a subject matter expert in cardiovascular imaging techniques, imaging biomarkers, and image-based endpoint evaluation throughout clinical development programs.

• Collaborate with sponsors and study teams to offer expert advice on imaging strategies, image acquisition standards, quality oversight, and data interpretation.

• Assist in business development efforts by providing scientific consultation, developing proposals, defending bids, and delivering client presentations.

• Establish and nurture relationships with sponsors, investigators, key opinion leaders, and industry partners.

• Work alongside operational, medical, and scientific teams to provide high-quality imaging solutions and services.

• Oversee and guide independent image review processes, reader qualifications, training, and quality management activities.

• Contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, industry initiatives, and thought leadership efforts.

• Assist in responding to regulatory authorities and provide expert insights regarding imaging endpoints, methodologies, and study-specific imaging considerations.

• Mentor and cultivate the development of colleagues across medical, scientific, and operational sectors.

• Collaborate with the department head on both mid-term and long-term cardiovascular imaging strategies.


⛳️ Requirements

• An MD degree with at least 5 years of relevant or practical experience is essential, including specialized training and proven expertise in Cardiology, particularly in Cardiac Imaging.

• A PhD in a relevant field with additional certifications in cardiac imaging may also be considered.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiovascular imaging is required.

• Board certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in clinical trials supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, CRO, and/or academic research programs.

• Background in supporting global clinical trials related to cardiovascular, cardiometabolic, heart failure, structural heart, and/or cardiovascular outcomes research.

• Proficiency in cardiovascular imaging modalities, including echocardiography, cardiac MRI (CMR), cardiac CT, Right Heart Catheterization, and/or nuclear cardiology.

• Comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular imaging endpoints, imaging biomarkers, and their implementation in clinical development programs.

• Familiarity with drug development processes and global regulatory standards, including ICH-GCP.

• Proven ability to lead complex scientific projects and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities, with an aptitude for engaging with sponsors, investigators, key opinion leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Experience in supporting business development, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

• Preferably residing in the US, Canada, UK, or Ireland.

• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located.
