This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement comprehensive medical communication strategies that align with Medical Affairs priorities, evidence-generation plans, data distribution, and readiness for product launches.
• Oversee the creation and upkeep of scientific narratives, core medical messages, communication strategies, and foundational scientific materials.
• Assess scientific communication and educational requirements based on new data, stakeholder insights, and shifts in the treatment landscape.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure that scientific evidence is conveyed consistently, accurately, and appropriately to various audiences and through multiple channels.
• Direct the production and management of medical communication materials, such as scientific presentations, clinical data summaries, disease-state resources, scientific FAQs, conference materials, visual summaries, and other educational content.
• Simplify complex clinical and scientific data into concise, balanced, and audience-appropriate communications.
• Create scientific training materials and programs that support new data, congress participation, medical strategy, regulatory milestones, and launch preparedness.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues and subject matter experts to address scientific and educational requirements.
• Ensure consistency across medical communication outputs by utilizing scientific narratives, core content, references, and approved terminology.
• Apply adult-learning principles and audience-centered communication strategies to educational materials.
• Act as a backup medical reviewer for both medical and promotional materials.
• Oversee the medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance review and approval processes.
• Work together with Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and Medical Affairs teams to clarify scientific inquiries and support compliant execution.
• Enhance standards and processes for content creation, referencing, review, approval, version control, and material retirement.
• Select, onboard, and manage medical communication agencies, scientific writers, training partners, and other external vendors.
• Provide strategic guidance and ensure that vendor outputs meet scientific quality, audience relevance, timelines, and budget expectations.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, risks, and competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Establish working models and performance expectations for agencies.
• Advanced scientific degree, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• At least 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related healthcare sectors, including experience in Medical Affairs, medical communications, scientific communications, or scientific training.
• Proven experience in developing medical communication strategies, scientific narratives, and medical communication materials.
• Experience in creating scientific training and educational resources for Medical Affairs or other internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with participating in or facilitating medical, legal, regulatory, or promotional review processes.
• Demonstrated experience in managing medical communication agencies, vendors, budgets, and project scopes.
• Excellent scientific writing, editing, presentation, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to distill complex scientific information into clear and audience-appropriate communications.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Capable of operating strategically and independently while being prepared to develop and advance high-priority deliverables.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced biotechnology environment with changing priorities.
• Experience in supporting late-stage development, prelaunch planning, or product launches is preferred.
• Background in psychiatry, neuroscience, or central nervous system areas is preferred.
• Familiarity with Veeva Vault, medical content-management platforms, or similar technologies is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15–20%, as required.
