This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Lead the market intelligence and governmental relations operations within the Strategy & Corporate Development team.
• Monitor competitors, peer organizations, and related entities in the UAS and counter-UAS sectors.
• Observe DoD and service-level budget allocations, NDAA provisions, and procurement trends.
• Develop and sustain market sizing, forecasting, and win/loss analysis.
• Provide regular intelligence briefings to Business Development, Capture, and executive leadership teams.
• Manage relationships with congressional offices, defense committees, and pertinent DoD and agency stakeholders.
• Track ITAR/EAR and export-control policy developments and advise leadership on their implications.
• Represent the organization at industry events, policy discussions, and government-industry collaboration groups.
• Collaborate with external counsel or policy advisors on policy-related initiatives.
• Work alongside Communications & PR to synchronize policy and press narratives.
• Assist Corporate Development and Partnerships with market and policy insights.
• Prepare the CSO for board and investor discussions related to policy or competitive positioning.
• 6–10 years of experience in market/competitive intelligence, government relations, or defense policy.
• Familiarity with the DoD budget cycle (PPBE), the NDAA process, and congressional interactions.
• Exceptional analytical and writing abilities.
• Proficient in creating internal briefings and external policy positions.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Candidates must have the eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• US citizenship is typically required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred candidates will have existing connections within the DoD, a service branch, or Capitol Hill.
• Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR and export-control regulations is preferred.
• Experience with a defense tech startup or a company navigating government and commercial regulations is preferred.
• Previous experience in establishing a market intelligence or government relations function from the ground up is preferred.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Capability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment with or without accommodations.
• Ability to maintain focus during business hours.
• Capacity to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
