This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the strategy, negotiation, and implementation of the company's most intricate, high-value commercial agreements, which encompass enterprise SaaS, self-managed software, data processing, information security, channel partnerships, strategic alliances, and other technology-related contracts, including those involving artificial intelligence, generative AI, and other emerging technologies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership and senior stakeholders regarding commercial strategy, deal structuring, negotiation tactics, and legal risks to expedite revenue growth while ensuring the company's protection.
• Collaborate closely with the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial Legal, on important commercial issues, strategic initiatives, and the ongoing development of the commercial legal function.
• Manage and mentor attorneys within the Americas commercial legal team by providing coaching, performance evaluations, and guidance on intricate negotiations and legal challenges.
• Work alongside cross-functional teams to address complex commercial and operational challenges and support the launch of new products, pricing strategies, and market entry initiatives.
• Create and consistently refine commercial agreement templates, playbooks, policies, and legal processes to enhance consistency, efficiency, and scalability within the commercial legal function.
• Assess and utilize AI-driven legal technologies and workflows to boost contracting efficiency, improve legal operations, support data-driven decision-making, and enable the commercial legal team to scale while delivering high-quality legal services.
• Cultivate strong relationships throughout the organization and promote a practical, collaborative, and business-focused approach to legal partnership.
• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent U.S. law degree and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• More than 10 years of commercial legal experience supporting technology firms in the SaaS sector, with a proven track record of leading complex, high-value enterprise technology transactions, including negotiations with Fortune 500 and other large enterprise clients.
• Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and developing attorneys.
• Exceptional judgment and the ability to balance legal risks with business objectives in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Established ability to build trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders while providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel.
• Extensive experience with data protection and privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA), information security clauses, and technology contracting.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated capacity to independently manage multiple complex, business-critical issues and competing priorities.
• Proven experience in enhancing legal processes, developing scalable contracting resources, and driving operational excellence.
