Director, IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the strategy and execution for Life360's primary IT Operations & Engineering teams, which encompass enterprise identity, endpoint management, network infrastructure, collaboration, and end user services.

• Propel the technical roadmap and transparency initiatives to ensure that leadership has clear insight into IT quality, risks, and investments.

• Lead, recruit, and develop a high-performing IT team, elevating the standard towards an engineering-first skill set and establishing new IT engineering roles as the function expands.

• Establish and maintain high-quality service level standards by evolving IT's operating model, focusing on service ownership, response times, availability, and an outstanding employee experience.

• Collaborate with the CISO and Information Security to guarantee that every service and process complies with our safety standards.

• Identify and deploy AI Native tools and automation that enhance internal productivity and employee workflows, aligning with Life360's broader AI Native transformation.

• Manage IT vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and budget planning in partnership with Finance and Procurement.

• Act as the escalation point and executive sponsor for significant IT incidents, migrations, and large-scale initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, with at least 7-8 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple teams or functions.

• Extensive hands-on experience in modern IT infrastructure, including identity and access management, endpoint management, cloud collaboration platforms, and enterprise networking.

• Proven experience integrating AI tools and automation into IT operations and employee productivity workflows.

• Demonstrated security-first judgment in collaboration with Security and Compliance teams.

• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement decisions.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with non-technical teams.

• Comfortable working in a global, high-growth environment where systems and headcount expand rapidly.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
