This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the formulation and implementation of Parkinson Canada’s health policy, government relations, and advocacy priorities throughout Canada.
• Establish connections with decision-makers and stakeholders to enhance access to treatments, services, and support.
• Spearhead high-priority national initiatives and convert organizational and advocacy objectives into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.
• Navigate intricate healthcare and policy landscapes while balancing long-term goals with emerging opportunities.
• Cultivate and activate relationships across governments, healthcare organizations, advocacy groups, researchers, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions, identify collaboration opportunities, align priorities, and promote shared goals.
• Collaborate with the Mission, Partnerships, Marketing and Communications, and Insights teams.
• Oversee the creation of briefing materials, policy positions, advocacy messaging, stakeholder presentations, and engagement strategies.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members and external partners.
• Monitor developments in healthcare, politics, funding, and policy, utilizing insights to adjust strategies.
• Report directly to the VP, Mission.
• Travel occasionally for in-person meetings as necessary.
• Experience in consulting, public affairs, advocacy, government relations, healthcare strategy, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with navigating government and healthcare systems.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive complex initiatives.
• Experience in managing complex stakeholder environments and aligning diverse groups with varying priorities.
• Capability to influence decision-makers and generate momentum around shared objectives.
• Skill in translating strategy into clear action plans, stakeholder strategies, and measurable outcomes.
• Ability to balance long-term goals with changing opportunities and timelines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with governments, healthcare organizations, advocacy groups, researchers, industry partners, and senior leaders.
• Proficient in navigating nuanced conversations while representing the organization with professionalism, confidence, and sound judgment.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining progress across multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, coaching, direction-setting, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and provision of references.
