This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all domestic and international transportation operations, including ocean, parcel, truckload/LTL, drayage, and multimodal logistics.

• Create and implement a global transportation strategy that aligns with business expansion and service goals.

• Develop scalable processes and governance to enhance visibility, predictability, and execution.

• Manage booking, routing, tracking, and escalation processes for global shipments.

• Enhance the consistency, efficiency, and freight performance of transit times to distribution centers, manufacturing locations, and global partners.

• Foster structured exception management and proactive communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.

• Strengthen process discipline and standardization in daily global operations.

• Oversee the carrier scorecard program, establish KPIs, and uphold service-level expectations.

• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews, performance analyses, and corrective action initiatives.

• Optimize the global carrier portfolio.

• Manage RFPs for domestic transportation, ocean freight, NVOCCs, forwarders, and global 3PL collaborations.

• Benchmark rates, assess market trends, and propose data-driven award strategies.

• Maintain relationships with logistics providers and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

• Analyze transportation performance, lane economics, cost drivers, and opportunities for network efficiency.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Identify opportunities for consolidation, modal optimization, and long-term cost reduction.

• Ensure transportation practices meet medical device compliance standards, documentation requirements, and global trade regulations.

• Keep audit-ready shipment documentation and ensure product traceability.

• Develop risk mitigation strategies for port delays, geopolitical issues, carrier disruptions, and capacity fluctuations.

• Collaborate with Supply Planning, Distribution, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Customer Service, and Regulatory teams.

• Engage in S&OP processes to align transportation capabilities with global demand and supply strategies.

• Support initiatives for new product introductions, market expansion, and customer-centric logistics programs.

• Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, recruitment assistance, employee engagement, career development, succession planning, and budget oversight for the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in global transportation operations, encompassing ocean, domestic truckload/LTL, parcel, drayage, and multimodal logistics.

• Strong grasp of global freight management, carrier strategy, and RFP execution.

• Familiarity with Incoterms, customs processes, and international trade compliance obligations.

• Ability to establish and monitor KPIs, scorecards, freight performance analytics, and dashboards.

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and associated technologies.

• Robust analytical, problem-solving, and cost optimization skills.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Capability to operate strategically while maintaining hands-on involvement in operations.

• Aptitude for staying informed on global transportation trends, carrier market dynamics, capacity impacts, and emerging technologies.

• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or global supply chain management.

• Proven track record in managing global freight operations and carrier networks.

• Experience in regulated sectors such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare manufacturing is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is mandatory.

• An advanced degree is preferred.

• Moderate travel, up to around 30%, including occasional international travel.
