This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee payroll tax compliance for the US and Canada across all jurisdictions, including local earned income tax and nexus for remote employees.
• Manage global payroll operations in Belgium, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, and eight other countries, ensuring adherence to local calendars and compliance requirements.
• Implement technical tax adjustments in Dayforce and Workday, including mid-year corrections and off-cycle submissions.
• Lead the quarter-end closing process by reconciling liabilities and ensuring the accuracy of 941 filings before deadlines.
• Facilitate year-end processing, including the production and correction of US W-2 forms.
• Act as the payroll tax subject matter expert for the People and Finance teams, addressing employee inquiries directly.
• Collaborate with Legal and Finance partners to manage tax registration lifecycles as the company grows.
• Partner on tax-sensitive matters such as equity vesting and relocations to ensure correct reporting of complex compensation.
• Lead and mentor in-country specialists while managing relationships with vendors like Partena, Cintra, and Forvis Mazars.
• Oversee global audits, providing necessary technical documentation and reconciliations while resolving cross-functional issues.
• Advocate for AI, automation, and process enhancements to optimize global payroll workflows and documentation.
• Independently execute a complete US payroll cycle in Dayforce and Workday within the initial month.
• Map vendor relationships and compliance calendars for 12 countries and identify gaps in payroll tax registration.
• Take ownership of delivering the first quarter-end close within the first three months.
• Build relationships with in-country specialists and vendors while identifying opportunities for process improvements or automation.
• Lead year-end readiness planning and initiate an AI-driven automation or process improvement project within the first six months.
• Present a global payroll operations roadmap to the VP, Controller.
• Over 10 years of comprehensive US multi-state payroll experience, including more than 7 years in a leadership position managing global coordination, year-end delivery, and intricate tax lifecycles.
• Proven experience with AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
• Proficient in using Workday and Dayforce.
• Capable of independently managing US payroll cycles and technical tax functions, including adjustments, 941 reconciliations, local returns, W-2, and W-2c.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience is mandatory.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
