
Director, Gas Asset Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
β’ Act as the enterprise owner responsible for the performance of Divert's biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) assets across all operational facilities.
β’ This position is tasked with maximizing asset availability, methane recovery, gas quality, safety, and lifecycle value by collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and external technology partners.
β’ Provide strategic technical leadership, promote continuous improvement, create enterprise standards, and ensure that Divert's gas assets consistently meet best-in-class performance standards.
β’ Oversee the enterprise strategy for gas handling and RNG assets, which includes gas collection, compression, upgrading, CO2 removal, gas quality, pipeline injection, flares, analyzers, and related utility systems.
β’ Collaborate closely with Operations and Maintenance to enhance RNG performance by developing enterprise standards for operation, maintenance, commissioning, critical spare parts, preventive maintenance, operating procedures, and asset documentation.
β’ Establish and monitor performance metrics and benchmarks across all operational facilities, identifying trends and disseminating best practices throughout the organization.
β’ Create a long-term roadmap for gas asset performance, which includes lifecycle planning, equipment standardization, technology selection, and recommendations for capital improvements.
β’ Lead root cause investigations for significant production losses and equipment failures, coordinating internal teams and external partners to implement permanent corrective measures and hold vendors accountable for performance, warranty, and service quality.
β’ Manage external engineering resources supporting operational facilities, ensuring that work is appropriately scoped, technically sound, and in line with Divert's enterprise standards.
β’ Assess emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending investments that enhance asset performance, lower lifecycle costs, and improve operational flexibility.
β’ Assist with new facilities and major capital projects by reviewing equipment selections and designs for operability, maintainability, standardization, and the incorporation of lessons learned from current operational facilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in supporting, operating, maintaining, optimizing, or commissioning industrial gas handling, RNG, biogas, or similar process facilities.
β’ Proven track record of enhancing operational performance across multiple facilities.
β’ Experience in influencing cross-functional organizations without direct authority.
β’ Background in managing OEMs, engineering consultants, specialty contractors, and technology vendors.
β’ Strong knowledge of industrial asset management, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and lifecycle planning.
β’ Exceptional communication, organizational, and business skills, with the capability to translate technical challenges into operational and capital priorities.
